Endocrine Society – Deep in the Heart of Texas

We traveled to Houston and Dallas last week to visit basic science and clinical members and learn more about their research and patient care initiatives.

Over three days, the Endocrine Society’s vice president – basic science, Genevieve Neal-Perry, PhD, MD, who is also a professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Washington and Robert Lash, MD, chief professional and clinical affairs officer, visited Baylor College of Medicine and UT Southwestern (UTSW). They spoke with basic scientists, clinicians, and trainees about how the Society can better help them achieve their career goals. The highlight of the visit was Neal-Perry’s research talk to a standing room only crowd of graduate and postdoctoral students. Neal-Perry also met with endocrine leadership at both institutions.

Our group met with endocrinologists in their labs, clinics, and offices, to learn more about how the Society can best support our trainee and early career members. If you’re interested in hosting the Endocrine Society at your institution, reach out to Jessica Harris for more information.
