The Endocrine Society’s flagship magazine, Endocrine News, is a finalist for a design award recognizing the best magazine redesign.
Endocrine News, which underwent a major redesign in 2015, is one of seven finalists for an Ozzie Award (sponsored by Folio: Magazine) in the category of Best Redesign for an Association / Non-Profit magazine.
The Ozzies (along with the Eddies for editorial achievement) are the most comprehensive awards in media and publishing, and the ONLY competition for all publication types.
Endocrine News is the ONLY scientific medical publication in the running (out of seven finalists). “This really shows that the hard work we’ve put into making Endocrine News even more user friendly has not gone unnoticed by professionals in the magazine publishing world,” says the magazine’s editor Mark A. Newman. “The redesign is not strictly for aesthetic reasons because it has made the magazine easier to read and the overall look is a bit more welcoming.”
Newman gives the majority of the credit to Catherine “Cat” Juchheim of CNJ Creative, Inc., “whose vision, skill, and overall design expertise has brought Endocrine News to the next level. Her design has even made it easier for me to my job!”
Both Newman and Juccheim shared an Ozzie and Eddie Award in the past for a feature article in the regional/lifestyle magazine Southern Breeze. Newman was the magazine’s editor and Juchheim was the art director.
The winners will be announced at a luncheon in New York City on October 31.
